The meaning of a tattoo?

I want to make a tattoo. Poppy on the forearm. It's just my favorite flower. It's just a desire. Can someone translate the meaning?

Poppy flower symbolizes peace, death, sleep, and remembrance. But I don't see why a tattoo has to have a special meaning. If it's your favorite flower it's meaningful enough to have it :)

I never focus on meaning. Just the art angle of it.
