Re: ALL ART POST HERE
A little something I threw together, going to give it away in tattoo form to a willing customer for example purposes.

Couldn't pass it up.

i assume you're referring to this
the client's request was for a painterly looking portrait rather than photo real. its been over a year since i've done it so i cant say what i charged him but i stand behind the work. you're right, if i were to claim this to be bomb ass photo realistic b&g portraiture i'd be as delusional as diesel. and in case you're new here or just haven't been following much, the only critiques diesel takes are the ones that he likes and the only tips he follows are the ones that require the least amount of work
to give you an idea of the 'painterly' look i was going for...here's a few i used as ref.

My first attempt at a tree, I colored it with General's Pastel Chalk Pencils.

I've had plenty of practice with tattooing the geometrically incorrect nautical stars. It's really sad when people are starting to get "Home Interior" quotes like, "Live,Laugh,Love" on them. I know that's where they get the idea, my girlfriend has a catalog full of items with the quote on it.
How many printer copies of this exact image have been brought into your shop over the past 3 years?

Re: ALL ART POST HERE
oh my f@#kin god. dude sometimes you just cant convince them otherwise, even when you give them the speech about how their skin is sacred real estate. they will insist on copying someone elses s&!t. that photo was reproduced once by me as much as i hate to admit it. in the past i have been pretty good at dodging that kind of s&!t though or at least significantly changing it! make you wanna rip your hair out though.
