Default Advice on destructive puppy and training

I have a 10 week old brindle pit bull female, she is a sweetie but she destroys everything. I think she is bored, which happens often because she is so smart. Today she shredded a couch cushion, a pack of diapers, coloring books, clothes, toys, garbage...all in 1 hour. Ive dealt with destructive behavior before, but she is ridiculous. I have never had a dog that was so destructive. Any tips for curbing her behavior?

Put her in a crate if your out or not watching her...sometimes when a dog is stressed or nervous they tend to chew and destroy stuff...which happens when dogs are alone. Being that dogs are pack animals, they don't like it when we leave them. I'm not an expert but I've owned a few dogs of different breeds and have pretty much seen it all when it comes to their behavior. teach them the difference in what is a toy and what is not..they learn pretty quick with a firm "NO!!" and a smack on the butt. Good luck!

Remember you are hard into the teething stage and that probably won't stop until 28 weeks!

Since dogs have no sense of the value of the items they explore and chew, they can often be seen as destructive in our eyes. Rather than looking to inhibit chewing, you should be looking to focus your dog’s chewing on those items you are happy for it to chew on.

# To start with, make only 3 toys available to your dog. Make them all different in taste, texture and shape.
# Use these toys and play regularly with your dog. This lets them associate these toys with good things and it is therefore more likely your dog will play with them when you are not there.
# Make one of the toys a hollow fill toy that can be filled with food and treats, further encouraging them to use them.
# When you see your dog chewing the correct items, praise them. This gives further positive reinforcement around chewing the correct objects. Avoid over doing this such that it interrupts their chewing.
# If you catch your dog about to chew on something they are not meant to, catch their attention with a firm "NO". Immediately give them something they can chew on and praise them when they do.

And when you are not there definitely crate train!

thanks for the advice. She requires a lot of patience, but she's improving. Right now she's preoccupied with snow, she loves to eat it...and icicles.
