Black and grey artists..
What machines are you guys using?. What ink do you prefer?
I am currently using a paco rollins, with silverback grey wash. Im thinking about going with a smoother machine so I can get down that smooth flesh tone.
What do you guys prefer using when laying down them B&G portraits?.

Re: Black and grey artists..
I use a few different setups , but its not really what machine, but how the machine is set up to run. My grey shaders are usually a shorter fast stroke. And since watching the Josh C vids, i have retuned my old mickey sharps from a long slow stroke color machine to run a really fast really short stroke. thats what i have used for the last few weeks and it seems to really work for my style.

Re: Black and grey artists..
Maybe I shouldn't of blamed the machine. Lets just say the paco rollins is tuned to produce a certain type of look (which im happy with). I'm mostly interested in what machine is tuned, or is of recommended use specifically for that smooth B&G work. Also Interested in what ink you guys using to produce the grey wash.

Re: Black and grey artists..
i believe there are multiple variables to achieving smooth b&g, there isnt a magic machine or ink that will do it for you.
