Re: Long time...
I think the technicality of the lion is amazing by the way. I took a great cover up seminar, and I got a book you can get the book and not take the seminar it is advanced cover ups for artists, if you're an apprentice it will go way over your head and if you're not an artist ... you shouldn't be tattooing. But since you don't look like either check it out and pick it up, white will cover so much better than most pigments... No s&!t I thought it was a lie too but one more session on the jowels and you got it nailed bud

Re: Long time...
yeah i already planned another session to layer some colors for more depth and better coverage from the get go for that lion. cover ups can be fun when i'm not too limited, hopefully that guy will track me down when i make my move to the new shop.

Re: Long time...
It sounds really shady and I don't know how your shop feels about it, but every artist I know is extremely nomadic so I keep a rollodex of all of My big emphasis on my clients, not cause I'm greedy but because I don't snake, and let them know where I'm going, keep close hold of your appoinment books and get e-mails, I always check up on clientel from time to time because it shows you care plus if you're personal with them and friendly they'll keep you busy for life.

Re: Long time...
it's not shady at all i told the owner and i'm leaving on good terms with a standing offer to come back if/whenever i feel like it. I'm also making arrangements with him to come back to finish those big pieces on a guest spot basis. I do need to get a rolodex for clients just haven't yet. But there is nothing two-faced about it.
My co-workers at the shop also know and have enough respect to let clients that request me know where i'll be and allow them to decide to track me down or not. I'm not competing in any way, i'll be an hour from my old shop and already know that most of them aren't going to drive that distance.

Re: Long time...
That's rare as hell in Utah man, I don't think I've left a shop on good terms not even my own, very cut throat around these parts.

hahaha, yeah despite being really old school my boss is cool as s&!t and honesty is the best policy, i wouldn't do anything to disrespect him and he knows it. Don't get me wrong he's not thrilled i'm leaving but he understands it's a better fit for me.
