Re: ask jeff anything
What do you think about pushing 1 for English, whenever you call any kind of company for anything? Isn't English the official language of the US?

Re: ask jeff anything
Despite what I wish was true...
English is NOT yet the official language of the United States.
Most people don't know this, but currently there is NO official language under United States law.
On May 18, 2006, the Senate voted on an amendment to an immigration reform bill that would declare English the national language of the United States. The immigration reform bill itself, S. 2611, was passed in the Senate on May 25, 2006, and now has to go back to the House of Representatives in conference to make sure amendments are agreed upon.
So, it actually remains to be seen if English will be voted the national language.
I hope this will happen, cause my Espanol sucks on ice.

well I think alphabet soup is great for helping with illiteracy, I remember spelling all kinds of dirty words in my soup and then eating them really fast when my mom walked in the kitchen. MORE ALPHABET SOUP FOR ILLITERATE CHILDREN!!! seriously nothing in school bothered me more than when other kids were illiterate or close to it. DONT THESE PARENTS READ WITH THEIR CHILDREN...IF NOT, THEY SHOULD! it doesn't have to be something lame like "atlas shrugged" read some comics with them or something so they are interested...it really helps!

well...i don't really think it should be an option at all....I'm gonna try to knock out a few things here in one post. english first off is not our national language primarily (i believe) because it is mostly world wide. there isn't a strong need to push it further. the US and Great Britian have already pushed english throughout the world by being some of the strongest and most influencial nations in it. unless you are in very rural parts of other countries most people at least speak some english. also in most countries most kids are required to learn multiple languages in school and usually its english. so the way we are here about spanish, maybe the rest of the world feels about english just because they know they may have to deal with one of us some day.
also if you don't want to push "1" you can choose to not push anything and it should automatically go straight back to english. the push 1 option is to help english speaking people avoid waiting to hear the spanish option so that you can get straight to your business remember the order english 1-epsanol 2
i'll be upset if that order changes though
