nothing over eight for me either, and the reason why you need more volts for 10-12 wraps is because you have more wire to get working. i set my machines up now, the exact way i did with 12, and my volts were around 11. yes they did heat up like a b1tc4. it also depends on the quality of s&!t in your machine. one of my first machines had a chrome covered a-bar that ran around 13

Yeah, I built mine out of POS machines I got for free. They may run really high, and a little hot, but they pack ink. But the sound alone Scares some artists, I was working on my buddy eddie about a week ago in his shop and my old mentor brad stopped by and couldn't believe what he heard when he walked in. But he did like the work they did.

I use 8's for lining and smaller Mags, thats about it but I don't want to run s&!t high ass hell it makes me work too fast i guess it's mostly psychological for me to tune every Machine Regardless of wrap to run around 6-8v mentor beat s&!t in my brain thank god he knew machines in and out or I would just quit and went to nuemas LOL ha to throw a nuema jab in LOL
