Artist Grudges

I had an appointment to get a marvel hero tattooed by an artist here and when i told him i was looking for a ride but i would be there he told me not to bother with it and when i asked him why it seemed like the reason he didnt want to work on me was because i got a tattoo from another popular artist in houston.

Being fairly new to the industry i was wondering....does s&!t like this happen often? not wanting to tattoo a paying client because they got a tattoo from someone they hate.....

in my eyes thats f@#king rediculous

that honestly makes no sense. tattoo art collectors collect others art. thats how it is. to each their own i guess

thats what im saying....i love collecting tattoos almost as much as i love doing them and i really wanted a piece from this dude...and now his actions really make me...not want a piece from him...after this happened i heard how much this one artist burns bridges and holds grudges to their fullest extent......and i just think that the way he acted was re-f@#king-diculous

thats not good man! im sorry to hear that, maybe one day this artist will realize he was and is wrong....but sounds like he already left a very bad taste .... it sucks when you want an amazing tattoo from and amazing artist and just because of some kiddie crap he wont do it...5th grade all over again!

I appreciate an artist's talent. But that's only part of the experience. I wouldn't want to get tattoo'd by some jerk with an ego problem.

Unfortunately the tattoo industry is just like any other industry in this regard. You will have your assholes, haters and general douche bags no matter where you go.

It could be an insecurity issue.... He knew how good the existing piece was and was worried that his wouldn't stand up in comparison, and was a cock about it rather than admit to you or even to himself that he was intimidated.
