Default photoshop cs

ill be the first to admit im no genius when it comes to photoshop. so does anybody know of any tutorials i can use to get the black background on my tattoo photos, so only the tattoo is visible? any help would be awesome. thanx!

ps.
to anybody hasnt bought the new "whole enchilada" DVD.... BUY THAT s&!t!!!!... i have unofficially renamed it "The Holy Grail of DVDs" thanks Brandon!

Use the Airbrush tool and just airbrush solid black around the tattoo. Just make sure that your select a brush with soft edges. That will give it a nice smooth fade into the black.

use the magic wand. set the tolerance to 42 or less and select the area outside the tattoo then use the fill bucket to fill in that area with black. You could also invert your selection and copy that then drop it on a black background. The magnetic lasso works great also if your borders are well defined.
