From their point of view...
In no way is this meant to condone the actions but it is meant to give you an insight into the other sides point of view. This is a poem i wrote after watching a documentary on some recent school shootings about 5 years ago.
Runt
Lying half dead in the back of his mind
Darkness and silence is his only design
Feelings brought on by depression and pain
A wounded heart left blamed and slain
Complete on the outside but his insides are tattered
Grown up, but not raised, his spirit is battered
Bound to a broken home, flooded by tears
And a school system where nobody cares
It's hell on earth with a summer vacation
With Sticks & Stones as their justification
Rendered feelings of disrespect and irrelevance
Silently conveyed on a shadow of tolerance
Their words contain weapons piercing his essence
The runt to himself, promises absolute vengeance
Another button pushed, his anger is triggered
Thoughts of murder revitalized, organized and configured
A reality surrendered to rage filled illusions
"Life without Parole" is the only conclusion
Now, an existence of sorrow, inspired by guilt;
Is shared among many and a child that you built
Kindness is not hard, try it out...
