i love critical..being able to mount it different ways is good..like deran said, to put a bag over it so you can change the settings without cross cont...is a plus....eikon makes a good unit but never looked back since i got the cx-2..just my 2 cents...

My apologies, I meant no disrespect. I'll contact you soon, thanks.

That was one of the main reasons I was considering the CX-2, I've worked with it before and I liked how easy it was to maintain everything clean. I'd like to test-drive the eikon and really make my final educated decision.

Anyhow, I have the CX-2 and LOVE it. I like the advantage of just being able to throw a bag over it while I tattoo, something you can't do with the Eikon. It's super convenient. To me that's the only worthwhile difference between the two.
It is very convenient, I agree. The adjustable magnetic mount, which was mentioned here earlier, is also worthwhile in my opinion. It frees up more workspace.

Talking Re: Eikon EMS-300 vs. Critical Tattoo CX-2

UPDATE: Just ordered the EMS-300 from Eikon last friday. Should be arriving at the shop late next week. I'm excited.

I've been stuck with an inferior power supply with a single-turn knob for a while. I've managed but it was about time to upgrade. We'll see how it works out.

My machines run stronger at the same voltage on my EMS than they do on my co-workers CX-2. I've been using my Eikon PS for about 5 years, I've pulled it from the table quite a few times by accident and can say it is a highly durable piece of equipment. I wipe it down after ever tattoo with Super Sani cloths and at the end of each day with Madacide and have seen no discolorization of the housing. Eikon is tops.

I dont know to much about the functionality of either but from my research on both this is my two cents> If you want a dope power supply for hitting conventions with and wont consume alot of area or if your work space is snug = CX-2

If you want a custom shop or busy street shop workhorse with pre-sets on different machines = EMS-300

Other than that I guess its personal preference> I like the look and options that come with the 300 so thats the route I'm goin when its time

+1 on CX-2. Great people, great product. My Eikon 200's are now backups.

For travel I like Lucky's Mini Power Supply. Wall Current USA or Europe and... Battery.
