Default tattoos become raised after theyre already healed

Hey all ,I was just reading through and came across a person who spoke of red ink not healing well and it got me thinking about my own black and grey tats. My work healed fine and looks great, but every now and then I'll notice parts of it become raised and 3-d looking. It doesn't stay like that for long, and doesn't really bother me. But I figured I'd throw it out there and see if any of you either experience the same thing, or know what causes such a thing? Thanks

I know exactly what you are talking about, a old tattoo that I had on my forearm(before cover up) did the same thing at times, the lines on the tattoo would raise at times. I never did find out what the reason was.

I read something about this before...someone said it was a blood pressure thing?

I can't find the link, but there was an explanation, and I think it was a blood pressure or circulation thing...and normal.

Some of my old work does this too...but my new stuff from Dave has not done it at all...wierd.

A rise in blood pressure, increased adrenaline, a change in body temperature – all of these things can affect your tattoo. If you notice your tattoo is itchy and uncomfortable, think about what you’ve been doing recently and you might find a connection. Usually stopping this activity for a period of time will cause the tattoo to feel better on its own.
