Lloyd Shocks Public With Head Tattoo of Guns and Roses

Lloyd is having a memorable week, having dropped his fourth studio album, 'King of Hearts,' on Tuesday (July 5). But his new effort has taken a back seat to the head tattoo he debuted on BET's '106 & Park' yesterday.

The R&B singer, known for his recent releases 'Dedication to My Ex (Miss That)' featuring Andre 3000 and Lil Wayne, and the R. Kelly-assisted 'World Cry,' showcased his newly shaved hairstyle as well as his fresh ink -- a black and grey guns and roses piece -- which rests on the back portion of his head.

When host Terrence J asked Young Goldie if the tattoo hurt, he revealed what was going on in his head as he sat under the gun. "I lost my best friend in the world, July 4 of last year -- my grandfather," Lloyd revealed while on the show. " The whole time I [got the tattoo] I just thought about him, all the good times we shared. Every July 4 I go down to New Orleans and I visit him and spend time with the family."

The ink represents the crooner's inner dichotomy. "I'm a walking contrast," he admitted. "I go from hard to soft, I go from guns to roses, which is what's on my tat. And I like to go from the streets to the sheets," he told host Terrence J. "I make street-savvy R&B music, but I also like to slow it down and be sensual at times, so when you listen to 'King of Hearts' you get a lot of the contrast of who is me."

After Lloyd debuted his new haircut, fellow R&B entertainer Miguel had a few choice words to express via Twitter. "Imitation is the Highest form of Flattery. Shout to LLoyd," he wrote. Speculation rose as to what Miguel meant by the tweet, which lead fans and critics to assume he was taking jabs at Lloyd's new look, which is similar to the 'Sure Thing' creator's avant-guarde style. On the other hand, Lloyd didn't take lightly to the comment. In an interview with radio jock Devi Dev, he addressed the controversial remark. "Did you see me respond?" Lloyd asked. "That's peanuts to an elephant. I am not the one for a lot of talking so I will see him when I see him."

His fourth studio album, 'King of Hearts,' is out now.
