Re: NEW MEMBERS!!!!!
Tattoo virgin 40 yo white guy, lookin to get tattoo over left chest of skin ripped open and can see red and blue heart with 2 small banners on it that says survivor on one and a date on the other. I had a heart attack back in january and just want to put something on to remember it. I heard this is one of the best tattoo parlors in the south.

Best in the south?! AON is more than just a "parlor", you've picked the right place. The concept of the tattoo sounds awesome and it's great to hear such a deep story behind it. Don't be afraid to go big with it though, in terms of incorporating all of those things, it might be better to go bigger than you are initially thinking, because you want the heart to look "life size", so all of the banners and skin tears around it will make it a pretty nice size, but someone at AON will absolutely give you the one of the best tattoos you could get anywhere in the world. Stay with them and you'll be in great hands for the rest of your life, because I can assure you that once you get the first one, you won't want to stop!!!

Re: NEW MEMBERS!!!!!
Thanks for the reply, i was thinking about it being 6-8 inches around. Price isnt an issue, but for a killer tat, around how much would something like this be? All my local friends that have tattoos all have s&!tty 50 dollar tats so it is really useless to ask them.

Well I can tell you that you've already made a wise choice by picking a great tattoo shop, with great artists, none of who will disappoint you. However, price is never something that can be given over the internet or over the phone or anything like that because every artist will have their own interpretation of your idea and concept which will lead to varying levels of detail in the tattoo. And typically when there are more details and intricate aspects to a tattoo, that turns into more time which means more money. But I do agree with you that inquiring about prices from your friends who got their work done at "shops" that are nothing but holes in a wall, will not lead to any reliable information.
My advice would be to just set up a consultation with an artist at AON and they'd be able to talk you through your idea, the size, the placement, the cost, etc. Good luck!!!! Let us know if we can be of any other help and how it all turns out in the end.

Re: NEW MEMBERS!!!!!
Hehe I have a crappy lil tattoo of my fraternity letters from age 18(37 now). Otherwise I'm blank, I was planning on starting at 23 with getting ink but I got diagnosed with leukemia, and that ended up being an 11 year ordeal :x I'm all good for three years now and ready to go definately looking for something that speaks to overcoming death and all that, along with the dark paths all that dying can take you down.

Sounds like you've got alot of great ideas and meanings behind what you want to get. Just find an artist that is willing to work with your ideas and respects what you've overcome and you'll be golden!!
