ok so im having the same issues and could find no answer on here i have never had an issue putting ink to skin until it comes to large people due to their skin being different and it not taking as well is their a technique im missing or do you have to change depth for the different skin type (i was taught to stick to the same depth) but im having to do recolours on larger people (mainly when its on a rather fatty area) any help would be much apreciated i havent been inking for long only finnished aprentership 3 years ago and hes moved abroad now so please nhelp me

thick skin has never given me a problem. get a good stretch and the skin is already pretty tight.../ usually pretty pasty too, so the colors pop. make sure you get them in a good position that stretches the skin for you...and some stuff, you just cant do, politely tell them "no i cant tattoo a butterfly in that crevice"
