Question Question about healing/tweaking

OK - I got a new piece this weekend at AON. There is a small star in it, and I decided to have it fading from dark at the bottom to light at the top (matches the lettering around it). Now I am wishing I had made it a nautical star. 2 questions: 1) is it possible to retro nauticalize it? (yes, I made that word up). I'd hope we could just add white to half of the darker parts. 2) do I need to let it heal completely before doing that?

Its a great piece and I definitely dont want to eff it up. Once it heals I'll write up a testimonial and post a pic. Thanks for any advice.

Done - thanks Brandon. This was my second piece there and i'll definitely be back. Both experiences were fantastic, and the work is just phenomenal (got Tim O and John L - who's next?). The new shop is great!
