Im at a loss as to what color my dragon should be the only color Im sure of is black for the body but Im absolutely lossed when it comes to secondary colors and backround I know I should leave alot up to dave but at the same time I want to have an idea in my head of how this is going to come out any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ok dude look.... you are getting entirely tooooooo many opinions from everyone on here... YOU need to decide... OR You need to just let DAVE decide. Hes the artist he will know what will look best on your skin and blend together. This is YOUR TATTOO correct? no mine or everyone elses tattoo on this board. just sit back and relax and enjoy. i personally have alot of work form AON and i have never really picked a color or secondary color or a liner size.... I let my artist do it all and then in the end Im SOOOOOOO SUPRISED and WAAAAAAAAY more stoked when its all done as opposed to being let down alittle because there isnt a touch of green here or a hint of magnetta there and then a gallon of jap pink over there.....

yes let Dave decide, I just gave him a direction I wanted for my sleeve and I just sit there and he chooses colors, hes the artist and he knows what will look good on your skin. Dont worry bro, hes a professional.

Same here. I met with Tim and gave him a general idea and a few elements I would like to have in my Japanese Dragon half sleeve and let him design and decide the colors. He is the artist and the more he is involved the better the design will be.

Don't be fooled by LA ink where every customer always has a picture of what exactly they want to see. Giving the artist leeway will lead to much better results.

Now lets just hope I won't catch the flu before Saturday....

Just give Dave a rough idea and watch him work his magic. You will not be disapointed. I had him do a large Japanese Koi. All I told him was, "I want a bold japanese koi." He went nuts. It turned out way better than I could have imagined.

Sorry man Im just a compulsive worrier after a bad experience at a local shop Im nervous about this one most artists Ive been to always left alot up to me and the thing is Im indecisive I guess I need to calm down and let Dave do his own thing and not worry about it.

yeah, dave will not steer you wrong. you will WITHOUT A DOUBT be happy with what he chooses. He'll talk to you about color choices and why he's chosing them, and guarantee itll make perfect sense

Rockstar is right (and pregnant and pregnant women are always right). Let them choose the colors. They know what will look good. Let them own the piece. Let them have pride in it. If you are too involved they may feel like all they do is a piece of flash, and who wants to feel like that.

Definitely let Dave have some freedom. When I went in for my first sitting, all I told him was I wanted a Japanese phoenix and dragon, full back neck to thighs. He then proceeded to draw freehand on my back something WAY BETTER than I could have imagined. Now he has a client for life.
