Potential Adopter in Ft. Benning Area

My friends friend is moving to the Ft. Benning, GA area (right on the Alabama line) - and would like to adopt a dog from a shelter or rescue, but has found that one of the requirements for adoption pretty much everywhere is NO small children. She has 2 toddlers. She'd very much like to adopt a dog rather than get one from a breeder - She is interested in any dog that would make a good family pet - whether it be pits, pitmixes, any kind is ok.

My friend contacted me when her friend ran into the no small kids thing since she knows I'm involved in animal rescue etc. I know at our shelter we don't have a blanket "no small children" rule - we base the rules on each individual dog's behavior test and temperament.

Since you guys are in Georgia, do you know where I can direct her to go?
Should I tell her to contact All or Nothing?

she can adopt from a variety of places here - when she gets settled here, she should just call around to shelters - or the georgia spca - but in all honesty she could probably just go to a KILL shelter and straight up adopt one thats about to be put down due to lack of room.

That's what I told her - there are SO many kill shelters in GA, she can pretty much take her pick. I gave her a list of all the ones I know of just from myspace, which is a ton.
