just moved to new state and dont know whereto start

i just moved to california and have no idea where or how to begin looking for an apprenticeship i have had one before but the guy was a piece of s&!t and lost the shop so i never really got to finish just looking for some advice on where to start and how to get a foot in

This question is often posted...

Take your best artwork and put it in a nice portfolio
If you are able to take some courses on first aid and CPR as well as blood-borne Pathogens

Then if your art is decent or shows talent, bring it to the local shops
Be prepared to be able to accept crit, and sometimes it does not happen the first time

To be honest it prob would not hurt if you went in and got tattooed at a few of these locations as well.

yea i have heard these things before so i suppose it must be what works i plan on getting tattooed at one of the shops i was thinking about trying to apprentice at just broke right now
