Apartments are screwing me!
So get this bullcrap.
I am doing a shotgun move to Austin, TX because my new job requires me there by the 25th and I JUST found out/got the job.
Now my apartment complex, on top of a $728 fee for breaking lease, is charging me an additional $1,200 for not giving a 60 day notice! WTF
There should definitely be a clause that states if it is IMPOSSIBLE to meet the requirements, that the fee be waived, makes sense to me..

Thats straight up retarded dude, i'd rather have a broken lease on my record than pay $1,500 +
Also, no negotiations with the new gig to pay for your uprooting?

Re: Apartments are screwing me!
I am, but it's not a WHOLE lot.. like $2,400 total.
With this added, I'd be screwed.

I tried that.. they basically told me "no my fault."
I'm going to let it go to collections and try to settle for less..

Re: Apartments are screwing me!
haha good luck! yeah austin is such a cool city...not ghetto...not overcrowded...texas football games are badass! 5th and 6th streets close down for foot traffic so you can walk from bar to bar...people that live in austin take pride in the fact they live there...lots of young professionals and college kids. i cant say enough...oohh and i almost forgot...Lake Travis is amazing...thats where all the rich folks live...awesome lake and places to eat....i'm jealous you get to move there haha!
