Default ::-Questions For Birdsong Regaurding Upcoming Appointment-::

Hello, My name is Mia and i am from VA. I am posting this thread regaurding an upcoming appointment i have scheduled with Birdsong on the 7th of August at 6pm. My questions are concerning the price of a portrait tattoo that i am looking to get done on my left back calf on my leg. The portrait is of the musician Aaliyah. When i called to schedule my appointment i spoke with LunchBoxx(who by the way was very helpful). He informed me of the starting rates and the possible price of my tattoo but i am unsure if it is the actual right price. the reason i say that is because the picture that i have chossen is slighty very detailed. I am worried that the price may be a bit more than i had been told i would pay. I have traveled from VA and will only be in ATL for this week and this shop is best shop i could find. Plus its VERY few good portrait tattoo artists in VA, if any at all. So below i have included a picture of what i am looking to have done. I will be contacting the shop shortly to see if a better estimate can be given.

Always talk to your artist directly. And always budget a little more than originally quoted. That way you are prepared if the cost overrun a little. Or you will have plenty to tip with. And if the tattoo ends up cheaper than anticipated you have some extra money to spend on yourself. Buy a t-shirt....

I've found so far that artists don't like to predict how expensive a tattoo will be before they're done it.. It can take longer/be more complicated than expected I guess and be more expensive than expected.

Typically on a piece like that you pay hourly, as it is hard to predict how long the piece will take to do. We do have somewhat of a minimum price on portraits, but beyond that it's hard to predict.

Give a call here to the shop and ask for me please. I would love to talk to you a bit about this and relay your questions to Bird. I would've asked you to do this sooner but I only just saw this post.
