Default TLC to launch "Tattoo School" on July 14!?!?

[via press release from TLC]

TLC Premieres "Tattoo School" on Thursday, July 14 at 9pm

On Thursday, July 14 at 9pm, TLC will air "Tattoo School". Award-winning Tattoo Artist Lisa Fasulo runs a hands-on and unconventional tattoo school in upstate NY where students from all walks of life learn how to tattoo in just two weeks. These rookie students are seeking to change their lives through tattooing. With just two intense weeks under Lisa's instruction, they will get the experience tattooing on body after body with artwork of varying levels of difficulty.

Rookie students, models risking their skin to first time body artists, a rebellious instructor and unconventional training...who will bear the drama of competition and survive?

How is that possible? My BBP class alone took me 2 weeks to get certified.

I don't know that I would let someone tattoo me that attended a two week school. Are these people artists beforehand? I'm iffy on that...I love getting tattooed but rather pay for quality and experience. Maybe I am wrong. Hopefully I don't offend anyone If you're a grad of that school and can rock out more power too you. I've seen people that tattoo for years and still suck though, only can do flash or trace but don't shade well...Can someone explain the Tattoo School too me if you've been. I read the website and it just seems like a lot but not a lot at the same time, plus how much is retained after only two weeks?

yikes...
I once upon a time went to truck driving school
graduated from bradford union vocational tech school for commercial driving
it was a 3 month course.
I did learn how to drive 18 wheelers, and school buses
it was no easy task, I heard about "roadmaster truck school" learn to drive in 2 weeks
well I know (going through a 3 month course) for a fact that I would not have been able to learn how to drive that truck in 2 weeks... Fake it... maybe
but learning how to back up the trailer took some time and alot of frustration and practice.
so a 2 week course sounds iffy at best and lets be honest its a tv show, and we all know to believe everything that comes from television.

I do believe this show is based on a real Tattoo School called TLC "Tattoo Learning Center"

It is based on a real school. 4800 bucks gets you the two week course and room and board and a tattoo machine that you get to keep when you are done. The page is rather crappy and I would love to know how you teach shading and gray-scale in like 2 days..

I signed up for this forum, specifically to post on this message. I am actually looking forward to this show. Everyone is getting all mad, but this will give us tattoo getters an insight into how tattoos work.

its also giving every trailer park kitchen tattoo artist the idea that they can go to a "tattoo school" and learn in just a couple of weeks....which is complete and utter bulls&!t. thats why so many people have horrible tattoos that actual professional artists have to try and fix on people everyday.
