Sorry to dig up an old thread... but my leg fell off. OK it didn't, but I have a tattoo that was done in January with Eternal Ink Avocado and it did not heal well. It took about 4 weeks to heal and all the green was pushed out of the tattoo. Now I have a tattoo that looks like someone took an eraser to it. The skin still gets very dry and is a bit pink. I've continued to use lotion and vitamin E, some days it looks normal others it looks red and dry.

I talked to Terry Welker at Eternal Tattoos he didn't tell me about the recall, but he did offer to have one of his guys fix the tattoo. I'm not sure what to do, just have him fix it? Ask for him to refund the money so I can find my own artist? I don't have a beef with them I just want my art fixed. Suggestions?

my suggestion: it's a tattoo, not a new car. Problems happen. Everyone's skin is different and you just can't predict how it's going to heal. Have the guy that did it go over it with another pigment, or find another artist, whatever. I wouldn't be too upset with Eternal here.

Yeah, that doesn't really sound like an issue with the ink, and if it is, not one that would effect other people that have received tattoos from the same bottle. Sounds like your body just didn't take too well to it, which happens from time to time.

Thanks for the responses.

My thought was it was an allergic reaction. I had another tattoo done this weekend, and while talking to the artists at the shop they mentioned the recall so I did a little research online. I noticed the recall was for Europe; however the lot number was very close to the lot recalled. It just gave me some cause for concern.

I'll just stick with my first plan, Terry said he has a convention near me in a couple months, and would have one of his artists fix my tattoo then.

some of the best artists in Michigan work at his shop. and some of the best artists in the world have come out of Eternal, or work at Eternal. Marshal Bennet, Jay Wheeler, Tom Renshaw, Bob Tyrell etc. etc. etc. ummmmm I would take him up on his offer.
