Try Adobe Illustrator CS3 as well; is it's to rework line drawings illustrator (as the name suggests) is the total boyo. It's got more advanced tools than photoshop in some areas when it comes to simply drawing. If you get both they work pretty much in harmony pulling the best features from both to create top notch pieces; all depends on the task at hand.

I live on the programmes for my degree so if anyone needs any help do give me shout i'll be more than happy to lend a hand or direct you to some good tutorials.

Like Rdlej said, you should get Illustrator CS3. You'll be able to rework photos, etc with the tools provided. If you have the $$$ go for the package deal of Illustrator/Photoshop. If you don't have the $$$ but still want them. Try to find a college student and get it at a discounted rate through Adobe. You save a good amount of money that way.

I use both programs pretty often for work. So if you have questions just post it up.

Hi, student here! haha.. I get discount but it's nothing major and it's a hassle to prove your a student you gotta send off a million and one things before they activate your student copy; you can download all programmes for a 28 day trial from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

Least then you can try the full edition for a month and see what its like to work with.
