Default Question about healing for the pros

Hey everybody here at AON, I enjoy reading this board. I'm a tattoo lover & the artists @ AON are amazing. Not an artist, just a tattoo lover & I'm a fan of your guys work. Please bare with me, cuz this will be kinda lengthy. I've spent several hours searching & reading up about similiar situations, & figured it'd be alright to ask my question about healing. I know there's many similar threads, but you all seem really cool for each person's situation!

Anyways, I got my tat on Thursday 8/20/09. It's a portrait and I'm happy with it. I did as my artist instructed to a tee. Removed bandage after 3 hours & cleaned with antibacterial soap. Afterwords I washed 3 times a day with antibacterial soap, and Tattoo Goo 3 times a day, applied lightly. It's in pretty good shape. Except this morning I had a small bubble appear & I have been applying the Goo very thinly, so I was surprised to see it come up. I washed it really good & it appears the bubble is now gone. Though it's red & sore in that one small spot now. I have a couple of minor small scabs, but no biggie.

So the advice I'm seeking is where to proceed from here? Should I completely stop using the Tattoo Goo now because of that small bubble (which for now is gone, red & sore) and proceed with using my Lubriderm Non Fragrance lotion? If so, how long should I wait until I apply the lotion, now? And should I apply it everywhere except for the small red sore spot & the couple of minor scabs...or should the lotion be applied to those areas evenly as well? And how often should I apply the lotion?

I'd contact my artist, but it's Sunday & her shop is closed. Been reading up about the H2Ocean, and unfortunately it's not sold anywhere in my area. I live in Oklahoma City btw. Next time before I get new ink, I'm gonna order it online, based solely on all the great things I've read here about it. All in all, besides the minor areas I mentioned...so far so good. It hasn't made it to the peeling & shedding phase yet.

The only reason why I'm concerned is because I got another tattoo on 8/13/09 from a different artist on my opposite arm. It too was a portrait, and the tattoo looked excellent! And it took 6 1/2 hours btw. But within 2-3 days after getting this tattoo, the damn thing fell apart on me. I lost the eyes, nose, and mouth completely. I was left with chunks of skin missing & it turned into a complete disaster! I'm not sure if it was because this artist was too hard on me, or because maybe I was obsessive making sure it was clean. I may have messed with it too much & applied too much Tattoo Goo in the process (that's why I made sure this time that I applied the Tattoo Goo very, very, very more lightly on the newer tattoo).

It was heartbreaking to watch the first tattoo (that I got on 8/13/09) fall apart on me & a damn crying shame. However, the artist is confident that he can fix it back to it's original awesomeness with a touchup session. Me, I'm not so confident, but I'm hoping & praying for the best. Cuz it looks like total s&!t right now!

So back to the beginning of my post, where I was seeking advice & assistance with this newer tattoo that I got on Thursday 8/20/09. Could you guys please consult me with the proper care that I should proceed with, starting now? Thanks in advance for any assistance with my situation.

No, I got tattooed in OKC....but it's healed up great now. Amazing what a few days can do. As for Tattoo Goo, I'm never using that s&!t again. Anyways, thanks for the reply.
