Wink Apprentice with lots of questions

So i am a apprentice in West Virginia (small rural town, only tattoo/piercing shop in county) I need alot of questions on the way i was taught and taught myself.

First off the ink, i ve posted on the Fusion Ink thread earlier but would also like to ask in this thread, ive been using my mentors set of Mom's ink but ive noticed it isnt as bright and colorful as what i see other star artists work and am about to buy my first set of inks and would like to have your guys input on the matter i was leaning towards Kuro Sumi, or Moms but since ive seen the Fusion have been hardcore debating on that, so i would like input on the matter.

Also whats the best solution to mix to get a nice smooth greywash? Is it best to just buy already mixed greywash? And what ink company makes a nice greywash?

Next is healing, i tell my clients to use A+D bout 2 or 3 times a day for 3 weeks, no swimming for a week, and no tanning for a few months, and to wash it a couple hours after the peice was intailly finished with their fingertips, no washclothes. These are also the same instructions i follow for my own tattoos. So does anyone have any better ideas or alteration to my steps?

Any other advice or tips on these subjects or any other subjects that a apprentice could use would be greatly appreciated....thanks
