Texas Body Arts was founded by Johnny Jackson, who is a very close friend of mine. He is an artist I respect, and a man that I agree with on an amazing amount of topics. He is a "tattooer" in every sense of the word. Their studio is in Houston, and they are super good. They have become very well known, and Johnny and I are in communication regarding business ideas regularly. He is also a very fun guy to hang out with.
In fact he is wearing our shop shirt all over his personal website,
http://www.inkaholik.com. Which is kickass! He is a friend and a peer, and he recently got married to a crazy awesome cool chick who is also a close friend of our family. She is also very well known and has been on the cover of many magazines. Mizuz Inkaholik, is incredible and an amazing.
The car crash was bad, "should have" been fatal, and multiple surgeries have commenced. The specifics and the outcome of these surgeries are still up in the air. but from what I hear things are very grim in the 713 area code right now.
Everyone involved is still alive at this point, which is a miracle, and one I am not taking for granted. These people are a gift in my life and I implore everyone to reach out and show some love, whether you know them or not. They are good people, and something bad has happened.
We at All or Nothing tattoo here in Atlanta have offered anything in the way of artists, money, manpower, or whatever to maintain operation of the studio in Johnny's absence. We are also putting together a care package of goofy dumb s&!t to try and cheer everyone up in these dark times.
I am writing all of you guys to encourage similar thoughts, support and love throughout our community.
As tattooers we spend a lot of wasted time it seems gossiping, and criticizing and "hating" on people. This is an opportunity for all of us to put the bulls&!t aside and come together for something positive and amazing. Johnny, his wife, and his family of artists need our support.
Please send some love and encouragement to get through this.
