Rome started out 5-0 this year but then April wasn't so good. May is looking a little better. There have been some bright spots.
Several of the pitchers have looked good, just not much run support. Sometimes it is hard for the casual fan to realize, but what may
appear to be a bonehead move is actually coaches trying to teach something.
Some pics of recent action.
Schafer rehabbing in Rome. Looks to be getting back to speed for the most part. To me (far from an expert) it looks as though still a
little difficulty with the wrist rolling over. Maybe still having a little pain??? Here is a shot sliding safely to 2nd.
Robert Hefflinger is starting to come alive as well. This is a shot of him in RF followed by a shot of him being greeted by the team after a
Slam. (I'm in the bkg with a half sleeve by Tony)
Rome has also got some speed this year. Several players are successfully bunting for hits not sacrifices and stealing some bases.
LV Ware and Kyle Rose have bunted several times back to back for hits. Rose has consistenly been at the top of the league in
AVG and OBP.
