Default Hori Smoku

Went to see Hori Smoku the Sailer Jerry premier last night in LA, must see if you haven't already. Lots of insight into the history and past of our art and trade. Way ahead of his time, this guy was the ultimate hard ass. A man that wasn't afraid to cut a motherf@#ker up inside his shop out of principle and pull his own teeth out is a hardass in my book. I feel a lot better about drinking, cussing, and carrying a big ass knife everywhere now. What a different world this art was then. Its funny that it has evolved into what it is today, what is looked down on now is how it was then; dirty, seedy, and rough. No gloves in any of the pictures, they used a bucket and a sponge to wipe off ink and had a pet monkey in the shop which leads to a great story about a monkey with the s&!ts. I have to add I love LA, almost got in a fight at in and out afterwards, nothings changed. I would like to thank Cold Steel fine crafted fighting knives for aiding me in a peaceful solution to a hostile situation, quality you can count on time after time. Too bad I didn't have my new Kimber .45 on me. Imagine their surprise to see that come out of its comfy little shoulder holster. Ahh new memories and a story to boot.

Great documentary! I bought it soon after it's release on DVD. I've watched it countless times. Philadelphia Eddie's interviews are the best!
