Pulse Watson Liner, what's up with the speed of this machine?
I have recently received a Watson liner directly from Pulse and am interested to hear what people think about the characteristics of this machine. Out of the box my Watson is running at 95 cps at 11.1 volts loaded with a 5rl. The stroke of the machine is super long and the distance between the rear coil and the armature bar is quite large. The machine has been running warm when tattooing and I need to move super slow to get a consistent line. Have others found that the out of the box tune of this machine is similar or different?

either give it more power, or shorten your stroke. get it to run how you want it.

Re: Pulse Watson Liner, what's up with the speed of this machine?
not trying to step on anybodies toes in here. i run pulse as well, an executive liner to be exact. i had the same issues out of the box. gap on rear coil was quite large and machine seemed quite weak without lots of voltage. 100-105 cps at 10.2-10.4 volts. broke it down and shimmed the rear coil so the armature bar struck both cores at the exact same time and it helped drastically. now seeing 112-115 cps at 8.0-8.2 volts. hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies, I assume you are not actually talking about the a bar hitting both coils as this would be completely wrong since the a bar should obviously only be touching the front coil ever. Shimming the back coil might be a good idea for me but I am just surprised at the way the machine was tuned when i received it and didnt want to have to do much of anything to it when i got it.

Sometimes machines get knocked out of tune due to mishandling of the packaging when in transit to the end user. If you know what to look for as far as numbers and a basic machine tuning knowledge you should be able to tweak it to get it to perform the way you want it to.

TV Host Conan O’Brien was greeted by a fan this week with a sign that read he had a tattoo of Coco. Well he got more than he asked for when Conan called him down to the stage to take a look at it. We have to admit, we’ve seen quite a few stellar Conan portraits and this isn’t one of them, but Conan graced the fans leg with a signature anyway.
