try adjusting the heat or "light" for the transfer, also are you using a plastic sheet to put them before putting them through the copier and open it up and make sure you got a belt, i know this...

you need to shake all your ink regularly otherwise it separates and will dry up, so sometimes ordering from second hand people is not the best thing to do, i mean you have no idea how long it's been...
