I learned a lot on my travels, had a lot of ups and downs, but I can conclude only one thing; AMERICA IS AWESOME. I am as guilty as everyone of b1tc4ing about the country we live in, but now that I have drowned in other realities it is obvious to me that we are extremely fortunate. Yes we are gluttonous, obsessive, driven, overweight, and sometimes arrogant as a nation. But we are awesome.

Fish and chips sucks.

Amsterdam is well... awesome too, but thats another story entirely. And it is not a country, it is a city in a sea of s&!t.

Brussles was incredibly boring, Luxemburg had some really nice people. England is intense. They have no civil liberties, can't even carry a swiss army knife. No miranda rights, no rights really at all, subwoofers are even illegal in many dwellings because volumes, much like the food, should be subdued and bland. Much like canada with more intense accents. And the strippers smell funny all over the UK.

America has her faults, I am aware. We are hated with intensity by most of the cab drivers everywhere. But I have decided I do not care. The "American Dream" is still alive. We are proof.

Work hard, do good, save your money and get a slice of the American Pie. It is happening all around us and we take it for granted. I am no longer participating in that. I am thrilled to be home.

America is awesome.

You need to do what all the kids do when visiting...
Knives are kept in your sock, yeah it may be uncomfortable but it's kinda practical and the police rarely check there when doing a street stop and search ;) We actually have a hell of a lot of knife crime but when we fight we usually fight Queensbury style (bare fists) or using bricks and whatever we can get our hands on 'tooled up'. We have no rights when it comes to the 'Old Bill' either. If they want to arrest you they will and they are usually viscious bastards as well who enjoy the extra power they hold over the common man, we can't plead the 5th and the powers the police have increase almost daily.
And you are right, avoid British food like the plague (I do) as not only is it bland but it is stodgy and piles the pounds onto your weight. I stick to Italian, Mexican, Spanish and Chinese when I cook.
It's why we are all mad here.

I had a blast actually, and will be eternally grateful to english joe forever, thanks for making my trip so fun bro.

I also filmed some of the best footage I have ever filmed in london, amazing!

we have a HUGE collection of video/photographs, but very different than "grandma goes to england" kinds stuff, I am very excited. I have been working for three days, going through photos, doing voiceover for videos and compiling hundreds of hours of footage, we are also waiting on Tony mancia to get back with all of his photos/video, as he is still in EU! germany this weekend I think?

But anyways there is great stuff a'comin'! stay tuned!

Yeah the truth is I was simply reinforcing a gratitude and love for where I live, here we call that patriotism, seems like many took it as "arrogance"? or bashing? Might be part of the reason so many people misunderstand americans.

Different cultures nowadays it seems, but yeah it was fun! everyone lighten up!

The whole response was totally blown out of proportion, people took too literally what you were saying, rather than taking it in the humor it was intended.

I'm really proud of my Country (admittedly I'm Scottish and not English, but still a Brit), and I certainly didn't take offence at your posts. I've followed your blogs for a long time so i know that you talk like that about the US too, it's not done in hatered at all.

It's exactly like you said, two cultures colliding. I think a lot of people over here don't get that just because you call someone a fag, MF, etc.. it doesn't mean you're insulting them, you're just addressing them as normal (and you did a lot of MF addressing hahaha)

I was on those forums telling how you also do massive amounts for charity, you had loads of fans at the convention, and that your actually totally decent guy who made sure I had the tattoo experience of a lifetime. Those threads were too quick to disreguard all that stuff. They just took your 'colorful' :wink: talk at face value, and didn't bother to acknowledge the other s&!t that was going down, and ignored everything else about you.

I think there was a lot of unfair misplaced agression too. As you said, things were not running smoothly behind the scenes, so there was a lot tension already in the air.

Personally, I had a blast meeting you guys, as did hundreds more people at the Jam, and spending the day in your booth was superb! And I can't wait until my piggy bank says I can get over for another insane colab.

The money in the picture on twitter was not even from tattoojam, it was a photo shoot for an article that is coming out over there!!! hahaha surprise! hense the passports and the knives and all and the 60+ ole lady porn, which by the way was a gift to TONY MANCIA from english joe as a joke and a way to thank him for the huge tattoo he did on him the day prior - at the show, on his thigh.
