Dodie Needs you! She wants her furever home!
Dodie’s Story
I was born 1/11/09 and bottle fed by my owner, I went to work on the construction site through the week and helped cut grass on the riding mower and rode 4 wheelers on the weekends. I was loved by my owner but he sadly died in a crash when I was 3. I went to live with his employer. The new owner already had a brindle boxer. I am a spayed female and we both wanted attention from him so we did not always get along. Now 2 years later my owner was 77 and in the early stages of Alzheimer’s and his wife was afraid of dogs so I was kept in a dark basement for 22 hours a day all by myself, no one cared to even name me. I used to hold my bladder as I was too afraid to relieve myself. It was however cool but I had no one to interact or play with, no one who would be my friend or take me out to play as I was used to. I was getting a little frustrated, I felt hopeless, confused and depressed and wondered what had happened to my life. Then the wife’s son wanted to put me down over the weekend with a deer rifle so my future was very bleak and uncertain, I am only 3 such a short life. I really needed to be rescued or I would not have seen another Monday. I was also then struck with a golf club and injured and then just as things could not get any worse a miracle happened and I was saved. With the help of the owner’s daughter and four lovely ladies named Harriet, Penny, Joni and Liz my life changed dramatically!” From here I was transported to a luxury boarding facility in the country, here my wounds were treated and I was fed a diet of love and kindness and the food is great too! I have air conditioned quarters and get to lay and play in the sun and take in the fresh country air. “All is new to me from a passing car to a blade of grass blowing in the wind” Here they tend to my every need. Liz comes in daily to exercise me and tend to my emotional body and in this time I have flourished. Unfortunately I cannot stay here forever so in a few weeks I will be up for adoption. I will be sad to go but so look forward to that wonderful forever home. You should know I am an American Bull dog/Pit Mix, although not vain I have to say I am a beauty. I am three years of age my favorite food is a cheeseburger, plain “hold the onions”. I love the ladies and am partial to a cuddle under a shady tree and love to run and ride in cars, my dream is to ride in a pick up again and once in am hard to get out but despite this I am totally lovable. I am Dodie and this is my story! http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...dodiephoto.jpg If you think you may be the right candidate please call Liz on 404 274 0378. All potential adoptees will be interviewed and subject to a vet and home background check. Please also write a short e mail as to why you would be a suitable owner for me! lingram49@gmail.com |
