the coming storm...
for you guys in seasonal areas that usually see a dip in activity during the winter months, has the sluggish economy made you more apprehensive or creative about getting through to tax season?
the largest employer here in our area just announced their 2nd round of layoffs and business took a nose dive the same week. people are starting to take this recession thing seriously here. overall this summer has been good but not great, my winter nest egg should get me through but i'm a fan of doing better than just getting by.
so far i've started a discounted hourly rate for anyone laid off from any of the plants and blanketed the local colleges with flyers to tap into that student loan cash.
so maybe we can brainstorm or share ideas and tips to help us all out and bring in a little more dough

Re: the coming storm...
I went from a $40 minimum to $40 an hour, I'm doing 50% off for Military Personnel, and I too have hit all 7 College Campus' in the area with Flyers with deals and coupons on them. I've also givin up evenings at home with my Family, to be out at College bars Passing out Coupons and flyers and $10-$40 Gift Certificates. Times are Rough, I haven't done a Single Tattoo This Week, but College loan money should be coming in Next week, and I should start seeing the Bay Area Busy Season anytime now. Who knows, Anyone Else got any Ideas?

It's definitely getting rough for sure. Working in Waikiki, I tattoo a lot of tourists and it almost seems like a ghost town some days. Scary stuff.

Re: the coming storm...
its sad to say, but this has been a long time coming. my area is all powdered metal, and because of the automotive industry s&!tting out, that put a HUGE dent in my tattooing. all those greedy bastards have to do is bring back all the jobs that are over seas. thats how most of this s&!t started.

It's tight everywhere! West Virginia was already not wealthy to begin with, Now Were really in the s&!tter. Our main income in the state forever has been coal mining, They're even shutting the mines down.
I can't even afford rubbers to f@#k my sister, lol
